24 Hour Parking Causes Concern For Cottagers In Bracebridge
A Sticky situation at Prospect Lake in Bracebridge took a step towards resolution during the most recent Bracebridge General committee meeting.
Coun. Archie Buie said cottage owners on the lake were left perplexed recently when signs appeared telling them they could only park for a maximum of twenty-four hours.
Buie said the parking lot has been in use for more than 70 years, and the lot is primarily used as an access point for those taking boats to their cottages. As such cars are often parked there for more than 24 hours.
Buie said the problems started when an emergency vehicle had issues navigating the parking lot and a sign was installed laying out the 24-hour guideline. Buie said as soon as the sign went up he started hearing complaints from cottagers.
During the latest General committee meeting Council decided to pass a motion that will see the bylaw Department sit down with Public Works in an effort to come up with a solution for water access only property owners in the prospect Lake area.
