Big Brothers/Big Sisters In Need Of Volunteers
During Monday’s electronic town council meeting in Huntsville, Chrissy King of Big Brothers, Big Sisters Muskoka provided a presentation and update to council.
King told councilors that presently they are in need of volunteers, and have over 20 little ones waiting for their big brother or sister.
King says the time commitment is 2 hours a week and volunteers can work out their own schedule. The mentoring program provides boys and girls with a role model to talk to and share and a relationship is developed through regular outings.
The in school mentoring program also provides youth with a role model and friend to talk to and share within school grounds.
Aside from needing Big brothers or sisters, board members are also required.
