Bracebridge Hosts BBQ For Flood Volunteers
On Sunday, the Town of Bracebridge will host a BBQ and picnic at Annie Williams Park to thank all those who assisted with the community’s response to the flood of 2019.
Mayor Graydon Smith said it is important to recognize the hard work and support that residents of Bracebridge have exhibited during the flooding that happened in town earlier this spring, saying, “You can really get a sense about what a community is made of when a disaster happens. The outpouring of volunteerism and kindness that happened during the flood this spring was overwhelming. It reaffirms for me that our community has so much to be thankful for, not the least of which are the amazing people who call Bracebridge home.”
In celebration of the community’s spirit of volunteerism and kindness, the Town of Bracebridge will be hosting an appreciation event which will feature live music and food. The BBQ and picnic will take place on Sunday, June 23rd from 11.30am to 2pm.
