Bracebridge Issues Order To Remedy Unsafe Apartment Complex
The Town of Bracebridge provided an update yesterday on the status of an evacuation order affecting 20 families on Tuesday April 2nd.
The town says that on Monday, April 1st, a privately owned apartment building located on Monck Road was deemed unsafe under the Ontario Building Code by the Town of Bracebridge Chief Building Official.
Tenants were encouraged to retrieve their belongings from their units by Wednesday and supports were put in place to find alternative housing.
Town staff have posted an order “to remedy an unsafe building.” The District, Town and MVS continue to work to offer support and services to all tenants.
The town says short-term shelter solutions have been put in place for all individuals and families affected.
