Bracebridge Mayor Has His Eye On Top Job At The AMO
Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith is angling for the top job with the Association of Ontario Municipalities (AMO).
During the most recent Bracebridge general committee meeting, councilors voted unanimously to endorse Smith's nomination for the president of the AMO’s Board of Directors.
The AMO is a non-profit collection of Ontario’s 444 municipalities that advocates and collaborates for their municipalities.
Coun. Rick Maloney gave Smith a glowing endorsement and said he has seen his great work with the AMO first hand. He said the AMO is a vital organization for Bracebridge and putting Mayor Smith in a leadership position is the next logical step.
Smith said he first became active in the AMO in 2011, and has found it offers a huge amount of opportunity for the municipality.
