Bracebridge Native To Compete In Olympics
Last week, Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith and Deputy Mayor Rick Maloney met with Olympian, Natalia Hawthorn to wish her well as she heads to Tokyo to compete in the 2020 Olympic Games.
Smith said “On behalf of Council, and the residents of Bracebridge, I wish Natalia all the best as she travels to Tokyo. The entire community is so proud of you.”
Hawthorn says “With no fans in the stands this year, the cheers from afar are more meaningful than ever.
Muskoka Parry sound MP Scott Aitchison added “I am extremely proud of Natalia’s accomplishments, her representation of Parry Sound - Muskoka, Ontario and Canada,” while MPP Norm Miller added that “On behalf of everyone in Parry Sound-Muskoka I want to wish Natalia good luck at the Olympics in Tokyo.”
Natalia’s first heat of the 1500m is on August 1 at 8 p.m. (ET).
