Bracebridge Says They Are Evolving Despite Lower Circulation
Circulation is down at the Bracebridge Public Library but that doesn’t necessarily mean the facility is not well used.
That was the message from Library CAO Cathryn Rodney during the latest Bracebridge general committee meeting.
Council heard that while there has been a decrease in circulation over the past five years, there has been an increase in technology use at the Library. Library circulation dropped by some three per cent in 2019, and Rodney says part of that was also due to cuts to the interlibrary loans program.
“It doesn’t mean the library is dying, it just means we're evolving, which is what we’ve been doing for a couple decades at least,” she said.
