Bracebridge Waits For Funding For New Recreation Complex
The new arena, library and fieldhouse project in Bracebridge has reached a tipping point.
That was the word from Bracebridge council as they formally committed to funding their share of approximately $13 million for the project.
The move came during the most recent council meeting. It followed hot on the heels of the Minister of Infrastructure announcing that the province is now accepting funding applications for projects under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program's Community, Culture and Recreation stream.
The town plans to build a single pad arena; a public library; a community hall; a multi-use field house; a playground, trail and outdoor play space; and an area retained for a future second arena.
The Town will find out whether they’ve been approved for funding by the summer of next year.
