Burk's Falls Post Office Closed Due To Staffing Issues
The Canada Post location in Burk’s Falls “temporarily closed” citing staffing issues. A sign on the door says they are putting emergency measures in place to ensure residents can access their mail, while they hire staff needed to re-open the office.
This follows the implementation of a nation-wide COVID-19 vaccine mandate that took effect for postal workers on November 26th.
As of Friday employees were required to be at least partially vaccinated or would be placed on leave without pay.
The crown corporation says most of its workforce are in compliance with the mandate.
Canada Post said in a statement that they are not anticipating any major service disruptions. However, there may be a few isolated cases where a post office may see reduced hours or temporarily close due to staffing issues.”
