Clear Cut Lakefront Lots Cause Concern
A pair of clear-cut properties on Kahshe Lake in Gravenhurst are not sitting well with District council.
During a planning and economic development committee meeting, District Chair John Klinck advised that constituents had brought two properties on Kahshe Lake to his attention that had recently seen all the trees between their cottages and the lake removed.
Klink said the Kahshe Lake Ratepayers Association (KLRA) were devastated and added that it would take generations before the property could be restored to its natural state.
Gravenhurst Coun. Paul Kelly told the committee that councillors from the Town of Gravenhurst had been in contact with both the KLRA and property owners and discussions are ongoing
Coun. Allen Edwards said the District needs to do whatever it can to make sure issues like this don't happen again.
