As the spring session of Parliament closed last week ahead of the summer break, Parry Sound-Muskoka MP, Tony Clement, said the Conservative Opposition has been holding the Liberal government to account by exposing the Carbon Tax Cover-Up, the Trans Mountain fiasco, and the Summer Jobs Attestation failure.

Clement says “Justin Trudeau talks a lot about his respect for diversity and helping the middle class, but his actions tell a different story. Mr. Trudeau decided to impose his summer jobs values test and cut jobs funding for all faith-based camps in Parry Sound-Muskoka and he refuses to tell Canadians just how much he will reach into their pockets with his carbon tax,” he said.

Clement says his party have also mounted an effective opposition to the government on many other fronts, including holding them accountable for their mismanagement of the Trans Mountain pipeline.

“Kinder Morgan never asked for one dollar of taxpayer money," Clement said. "All the company wanted was certainty”

Clement says The Carbon tax proposed by the government will drive gasoline prices will go up by at least 11¢ a litre and that the cost of heating one's home will increase by over $200. However, the government will not tell us the overall cost to an average Canadian family, because they do not want people to know what their scheme will cost.
