Coroner Confirms COVID-19 As Cause Of Man's Death At RVH
A coroner's report is confirming that the death of a man who died at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre was caused by the COVID-19 virus.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reported the confirmation from the coroner's office today.
The man was 77 years old and had close contact with an Alberta man who was visiting the area and tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr. Charles Gardner, the medical officer of health, said the two men knew each other and is evidence of community transmission.
