Driver Charged After Forcing Cyclist Off The Road During Triathlon
Huntsville OPP have charged a woman in connection with an incident that took place during the Ironman 70.3 race that took place on July 8th.
Police say a cube style van that was driving northbound in the same direction of the cyclists entered the shoulder of the road, causing a cyclist to catapult into the air and fall on the gravel shoulder.
Police say that the driver of the cube van forced the cyclist off the road, then left the scene.
The cyclist was transported to local area hospital where he was treated with non-life threatening injuries and released.
A 47 year-old Huntsville woman has been identified and faces a Highway Traffic Act charge of Fail to Share Roadway. No name was released.
