
Driver faces slew of charges after fleeing the scene
OPP report that a 30-year-old driver from Huntsville is facing multiple charges after leaving the scene of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11.
Friday at around 8:45 p.m., Huntsville OPP responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 11 north of Highway 60, where witnesses reported the driver fled on foot.
OPP located the driver and he was taken into custody.
Further investigation revealed that the driver had been involved in an earlier altercation leading to additional charges.
The man faces a variety of charges including:
- Operation while impaired
- Dangerous operation
- two counts of Assault with a weapon
- Assault
- Uttering threats to cause death or serious bodily harm
- Resist Peace Officer
- Fail to remain at the scene of a collision
- Drive while under suspension
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
