Green Leader Mike Schreiner Tells The Bay He Has A Plan for Housing Crisis
Yesterday, Leader of the Green Party of Ontario, Mike Schreiner the joined Green Party Candidate for Parry-Sound Muskoka Matt Richter for a tour in Gravenhurst.
The tour began with an outdoor town hall at Lions Pavilion in Gravenhurst, where Schreiner and Richter discussed the GPO’s recently launched Housing Strategy to build livable and affordable communities.
Schreiner also joined the morning crew on The Bay 88.7FM where he said “Ontario is facing a housing affordability crisis, people in Parry Sound-Muskoka deserve to have an affordable place to call home.”
“It’s getting harder and harder for people to find an affordable place to live. Ontario Greens have an ambitious and achievable plan to build communities that are affordable, connected and sustainable,” he said.
Schreiner also says “We need to urgently bring back passenger rail to Muskoka,” while Richter said “It’s not good enough to punt it down the line like the current government is doing. It’s a matter of accessibility as well as an important step to combat the climate emergency by reducing transport emissions.”
Schreiner’s visit to Parry-Sound Muskoka was part of the Summer Days Leader’s Tour. His next stop will be today in Dufferin-Caledon.
