Hunters Bay Radio Begins Process Of Repairing Equipment After Arson
Hunters Bay Radio will going off air for a short period of time tonight, sometime shortly after 6pm as technicians begin to transfer our broadcast to a new temporary transmitter. We’ll be permanently powering off our current transmitter that was damaged by an arson that took place at transmitter site on August 8th.
The change is meant to safeguard us going off the air unexpectedly, as our current transmitter is failing. A new transmitter is being built, and will be shipped to us for installation in the coming months.
The fire damage is expected to cost approx. $75,000.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for any tips that lead to an arrest in this arson. If you have any information about those responsible, please contact OPP or Crime Stoppers.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Online streams will continue to operate during this process.
