Huntsville BIA Receives $18,000 To Improve Online Presence
The Huntsville BIA in partnership with the Town of Huntsville has received an $18,000 grant from Digital Main Street Ontario for a Digital Service Squad (DSS) to help small main street businesses in the region using digital technologies to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Funding for the grant is provided by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT).
Morgan Richter, Manager of the Downtown Huntsville BIA says “Downtown Huntsville will be undergoing a revitalization project in Spring of 2021, and with COVID-19, there is no better time than now to have an online presence.”
Digital Service Squads will also assist qualified small businesses through the application process for a $2,500 Digital Transformation Grant, which includes an online assessment, online training modules and the development of a Digital Transformation Plan (DTP).
Currently the BIA is in the process of hiring a Digital Squad through an Request for Proposal (RFP), which can be found on the Town of Huntsville’s website. Once the squad is hired, the business outreach with begin.
