Huntsville Celebrates 120th As A Town
The Town of Huntsville is celebrating its 120 birthday today.
The town says the on January 7, 1901, Huntsville accepted its official status as a town, but there were no ceremonies or big newspaper headlines. Just a small note in the Forester reading that “Huntsville has outgrown her old village garb and on January 7th will be recognized officially as an incorporated town”.
The town says that while much has changed, what has stayed the same is: this was and is a great town, was and is, a great place to live, was and is filled with great people who have pride in their town and an appreciation for its value.
“With all of the uncertainties surrounding life currently, we can’t think of a better place to ride this out together,” the release stated.
