Huntsville Council nixes changes requested by Pickle ball players
Staff updated Huntsville Council on the progress of the pickle ball courts at McCulley-Robertson park at Monday’s meeting, and asked that an additional $23,744 be approved due to design changes requested by the pickle ball users, and for structural and ground issues.
The design change would reorient the courts to north to south. The original project was going to be coming in under $30,000 but with these changes the additional cost would be upwards of $50,000.
The changes would have brought the total contract price to $379,314.
After discussion council voted on the issue, and were not in favour of spending any more money, and instructed that the courts are to be built as is.
