Huntsville Councilors Give Go Ahead to Rock Cutting Business on Muskoka Rd 3
Huntsville councilors gave the nod to a new rock cutting business on Muskoka Rd 3 on Monday. Councilors held their noses and passed the motion 4-3 to allow for Muskoka Rock to proceed despite concerns over noise and road safety.
The project impacts several hundred residents in the area according to Councilor Brian Thompson, who voted against the motion. Deputy Mayor Karin Terziano said it wasn’t the best use of land and the business wasn’t compatible with the area, but said she would support the project based on residents’ concerns were met.
The town and proponent had worked with area residents to find a way to satisfy their concerns.
