Huntsville Extends Deadline For Property Tax Payments

Posted: 2020-03-26 14:21:49 By: hbr

During Huntsville’s special town council meeting today a motion was presented to council regarding property taxes that are due on March 31st.   The recommendation made to council by staff was to maintain the existing due date of March 31st for property taxes,  but to waive the late penalty until May 31 2020.  The District of Muskoka has agreed to accept only the proportionate share of tax collected,  in lieu of requiring the full payment. The province is also deferring the education portion of the taxes due them.

Council passed this motion, and agreed the situation can be looked at again if further amendments need to be applied.
