Huntsville Merchants Concerned About Entry Fees At Maple Fest
Huntsville Council will be meeting today and will hear a number of reports, one of which is from the Downtown Huntsville Merchants who are concerned about admission fees charged at the Maple Festival in May.
The entrance fee was seen as a barrier to residents who needed to shop downtown only and not partake in the festival.
The merchants want the chamber of Commerce to eliminate the fee and use the $5000 grant it gives the Chamber to offset the entrance fee.
As well, the BIA is looking to install an ice skating rink at River Mill Park this winter. The merchants are currently seeking permission to move the sheds behind the band shell to accommodate this.
