Huntsville Native Finishes Walk Across Canada for MMIWG
A former Huntsville resident has finished his walk across Canada for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Matthew Jefferson of the Wet’suwet’en First Nation in BC reached the easternmost point in Canada last month—but he says that his journey to raise awareness for missing and murdered indigenous women and girls is not quite finished. His mission started three years ago after his Aunt, Frances Brown, went missing while picking mushrooms in Smithers, B.C. Jefferson says that he’s going to head home to British Columbia and then start the whole process over again on his bike.
