Huntsville's Accommodation Tax Helps Fund BIA Voucher Program
The Huntsville BIA announced yesterday that the Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association (HMATA) board passed a motion to give the Huntsville BIA $20,000 annually for two years to support their efforts with visitation in downtown Huntsville. This voucher program consists of $20,000 from the HMATA board and $10,000 from the Huntsville BIA’s annual budget.
The BIA says $30,000 will be directly invested into the businesses in downtown Huntsville.
Jesse Hamilton, Chair of the HMATA board and General Manager of Deerhurst Resort says “this voucher program adds significant value to our entire business community.”
Morgan Richter, Downtown Huntsville BIA Manager added that “Our downtown is open and we look forward to seeing the economic spinoff from these vouchers.”
