Lake Study Takes Place In South Muskoka
A pair of lakes in south Muskoka are set to go under the microscope as part of the Love your Lake program.
The District of Muskoka recently announced they've been able to secure just under $4,000 in funding they plan to put towards hiring two temporary shoreline assessment technicians.
The technicians will be working on the Sustainable Watersheds Program, commonly known as the Love Your Lake Program. The remainder of the $9,895 price tag for the two hires will come from the Muskoka Watershed Council.
The program has already put together data on 15 lakes in Muskoka and this year’s program will undertake shoreline assessments of all properties on Kahshe Lake and Bass Lake in Gravenhurst.
The assessment data will be used to develop individual shoreline property reports, which will be available to lake residents free of charge. The program also works to increase shoreline stewardship.
