MAHC Board To Receive Recommendation For Two New Hospitals On Oct 10th
The Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare Board of Directors will receive the recommendation from the Capital Plan Development Task Force for the preferred building options for the Two Acute Sites at its next monthly meeting. The proposal is calling for new newly built hospitals. In Bracebridge the recommendation is for a new hospital on new land. In Huntsville the recommendation calls for a new hospital to be built on the same land as the existing hospital.
There are concerns among the community that the plan is not financially viable and is set to fail, which residents fear could set the stage for a new single site hospital to service the residents of Muskoka and South Almaguin.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, October 10 in the Boardroom at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital site.
As with all Board meetings, members of the public and media are welcome to attend. The MAHC says that as space is limited, registering in advance is required. To register, call 705-789-2311 ext. 2342.
