Man Arrested After Yelling & Swearing At Police

On Thursday January 17th, OPP were investigating a separate incident when they were approached on Ontario Street in Burks Falls by an intoxicated man.

Police report that  38 year old Robert Trahan of Magnetawan proceeded to yell and swear at officers and was subsequently arrested for being intoxicated in a public place.

Officers brought the accused to the Almaguin Highlands Detachment where he became aggressive physically and verbally and was causing damage to police property.

Trahan has been charged with:

  • Uttering threats,
  • Mischief - interfere with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property under $5000,
  • Causing a disturbance,
  • Assault a peace officer with a weapon,
  • Being intoxicated in public place,
  • Possessing unmarked cigarettes,

Trahan was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at a Sundridge Court on Thursday, January 24th.
