Man Faces Numerous Charges After Damaging Property & Fleeing Police
The Almaguin Highlands OPP arrested a man after numerous criminal offences were committed.
Police say that on Monday July 12, officers were called to a traffic complaint in the South River area, after the accused drove on to a resident's property, damaging the driveway.
Then on Wednesday July 28, the accused was involved in another incident where police were called. When police attempted to arrest the accused he fled in a truck, damaging several vehicles including a police vehicle.
On Thursday, police arrested and charged 35 year old Scott Vaillancourt, of Laurier Township with:
- Assault with a weapon,
- Mischief under,
- 2 counts of Mischief over,
- Utter threats,
- Four counts of Failure to comply with undertaking, and
- 3 counts of Dangerous operation,
Vaillancourt was held for bail scheduled for today, and was remanded in to custody. He is to reappear in a Parry Sound Court on August 3rd.
