Mayor's Bike Ride Takes Place Tonight
The Town of Huntsville is inviting residents to pump up their tires and grab their helmets to join Mayor Scott Aitchison for the 4th Annual Mayor’s Bike Ride, taking place tonight at 6:30pm at River Mill Park.
Mayor Aitchison, along with the Town’s Sustainable Huntsville program and local sport therapy experts at The SportLab, are championing the Mayor’s Bike Ride to promote cycling for recreation, transportation, exercise and tourism.
The 12 Km social bike ride is a wonderful opportunity to give cycling a try and organizers say the ride is mostly flat and is manageable for cyclists who can ride comfortably for an hour.
There are many benefits of riding a bike as part of a regular exercise routine as it reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.
The Bike Ride is a free community event and everyone is welcome to come and give cycling a try.
