Miller Announces Funding For Seniors
Norm Miller, MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka announced yesterday that the new Seniors Community Grant Program will invest up to $3 million in grants to partner with non- profit community organizations and municipalities across the province to co-ordinate and deliver supports and programs to seniors. Community groups are invited to apply for funding from $1,000 up to $25,000. Applications are due by June 27, 2019.
Miller says that with a large and growing senior population, this issue is particularly important for Parry Sound-Muskoka. Currently, 26% of the riding is made up of seniors, compared to 17% of the population of the province.
“The Seniors Community Grant Program is a great opportunity to help seniors stay active and engaged. The funding will help seniors access more local programming and services that will benefit their wellbeing,” he said.
