Miller Invites Seniors To Participate In Seminar
Next Friday, Norm Miller, MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka, will host his sixth annual Seniors’ Seminar at the Active Living Centre in Bracebridge.
Seniors can come hear presentations about estate planning, the value of volunteering and Alzheimer’s disease. A light lunch will be provided so anyone interested should RSVP to Miller’s office.
Also this month the Ontario Government is consulting with seniors, caregivers and organizations that provide services to seniors on how the province can best support its aging population.
Seniors are the fastest growing demographic in our province. Current estimates predict that the seniors population will grow to over 3 million by 2023 – that is about 400,000 more seniors than today. And Parry Sound-Muskoka has a larger than average senior population.
Miller says “We recognize that seniors want to remain active and participate fully in their communities. Our government is committed to doing what is right for our aging population in Parry Sound-Muskoka and we need your ideas. We want to hear from seniors, the people who care for them and the organizations that support them.”
