This year MP Norm Miller will be participating in the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Dwight on Saturday and in South River and Sprucedale on Sunday.

Miller said that he is proud to be part of a government that is working to make life better for our military families. Miller says that “Military families move three times more often that other families, often transferring between provinces, so our government will work to make the transition easier by establishing a telephone hotline to provide military families new to Ontario with the key resources they need upon arrival.”

The Government has also announced plans to build a monument at Queen’s Park to the veterans of the War in Afghanistan.

Miller says that The Royal Canadian Legion offers vitally important services for veterans, as well as support for families and seniors. In many communities like those in Parry Sound-Muskoka, the local Legion hall also acts as a central hub, bringing people of all ages together as host for countless social and community-based events.

“Even if you can’t make it to a Remembrance Day ceremony, I encourage everyone to take a moment at 11 o’clock on November 11 to remember those Canadians who fought so that we could live in freedom today,” he said.
