Ministry Lays Charges In Bracebridge Blast
A Sudbury based company has been charged in connection with a blast that took place in a Bracebridge neighbourhood that damaged a number of homes on Kimberly Avenue last August.
The District of Muskoka was replacing sewage and water along the street and the construction company – Coon Brothers had sub-contracted another firm, Breaking Ground Drilling and Blasting.
After a lengthy investigation, the Ministry of Labour has charged Breaking Ground Drilling and Blasting for failing to ensure proper measures and procedures were followed before the explosion.
An employee is also charged with failing to work in compliance with regulations at the workplace.
The case will go to court in Bracebridge in October.
