Muskoka Lakes Pushes For Better Hi Speed Internet
The Township of Muskoka Lakes wants more investment in high-speed internet for rural areas, as its function has become increasingly vital.
During the recent Muskoka Lakes committee of the whole meeting, councillors decided to adopt a motion from the Township of Armour looking to strengthen rural internet service.
Coun. Glenn Zavitz brought the motion forward, pointing out that under the current climate, functional internet service has become vital to rural residents. Zavitz said many rural residents still don’t have access to the internet and newspapers are becoming obsolete. He said access to the service is vital for health and safety and information on emergency situations.
The motion will now be sent to MP Scott Aitchison, MPP Norm Miller and all of the other municipalities in Muskoka.
