Muskoka Lakes Says Canada Day Party Was A Huge Success
A change of format for the mayor’s annual Canada Day party in Muskoka Lakes appears to have been a success.
The Township usually hosts a mayor’s golf tournament but this year they opted to change the format into a Family Canada Day event.
During a recent Muskoka Lakes Township meeting, Mayor Phil Harding said the new family friendly event raised $58,204. That number is higher than the golf tournament typically makes.
This year’s event included water sports, music and children's programming in Minett and Wallace Bay.
Nonetheless, Mayor Harding said they might consider scaling down the event from two days to one for the 2020 edition.
