Muskoka Loppet Looking For Volunteers
A Muskoka tradition continues as a team of volunteers gear up for the annual Muskoka Loppet.
This year, the event will take place on Sunday, January 27th, at Arrowhead Park.
Organizers say the Muskoka Loppet is a cross-country ski event, in the classic style of skiing and the distances include a 5 km course for “social skiers” and children, and more challenging 15 and 30 km courses for recreational and competitive skiers.
This event is always very popular in the world of cross-country skiing and even more participants are expected this year since Arrowhead Park has two brand new indoor facilities to keep the participants warm before and after the event.
Holding a weather-dependent event is always a challenge but the organizers are confident that comfortable winter conditions will make this a perfect day.
Anyone interested in participating can register online by January 24 at www.arrowheadnordic.ca.
The organizers are also looking for volunteers and anyone interested can email firstname.lastname@example.org Help is needed at registration, along the course, at the finish line and at the food stations.
