New Craft Brewery Coming To Muskoka
Another craft brewery is joining the ranks of Muskoka’s thriving beer scene.
This time the new brewer will be setting up in a familiar site - the former home of the Muskoka Brewery on Taylor Road in Bracebridge.
The new Brewery was approved for rezoning during this week’s Bracebridge town council meeting.
The two storey brick building was home to the Muskoka Cottage Brewery, which is now known simply as Muskoka Brewery, up until 2012 when they moved to a larger facility on Muskoka Beach Road.
Richard Kim of Toronto, who owns the building where the new brewery will be built, was in attendance when the rezoning was discussed at the committee level but didn’t provide a formal presentation.
The new brewery will contain 70 square metres for production; a cooler area, storage and washrooms; and a 92 square metre tap room, seating area and bottle shop.
Staff recommended the rezoning, saying the site has already been the home to a brewery once and a successful venture could have spin-off benefits for the entire downtown core.
