New Signs Around Huntsville Explained
Residents of Huntsville have been questioning new signs popping up around the area--Steve Hernen from the Town of Huntsville explained what they are exactly.
The signs, which bear the official Canada logo, a road name and a sum of money, indicate money being invested by the federal government back into the maintenance and resurfacing of our roads.
The funds come from gas taxes, and every year the Town of Huntsville receives an amount around $600,000. Some roads seeing a portion of that money this year include Skyhills Road, Rowanwood Road and the Main Street streetscape.
This year, the Town of Huntsville has passed a capital budget 6.5 million dollars for road and infrastructure improvements.
