The town of Bracebridge is looking at a cost of $5.8 million in bridge repairs over the coming decade.

Public Works director Walt Schmid presented a report on the status of the municipalities bridges and culverts during the most recent general committee meeting.

He pointed out that ⅓ of the bridges in the Town of Bracebridge are at least 90 years old.

However, he also said the town is on the right track, having replaced three bridges in the last six years. A fourth - the Rock Cut Bridge on Queen Street is slated for repairs this year.

In total the public works department inspected 15 bridges and four culverts.
