OPP Underwater Search & Recovery Unit Locate Man's Body
Shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday OPP along with Gravenhurst Fire Department and Muskoka Paramedic Service were called to a public beach in Gravenhurst, in response to a report of three people that had been on a swimming toy and had gone under water and were in distress. An adult woman and a child were pulled from the water and taken to a local hospital where they are expected to recover.
The search continued for the missing man with the assistance of the OPP Marine Unit, Aviation services and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.
Police say that shortly after 6:00 p.m. the 37 year-old Brampton man was pulled from the water and unfortunately life-saving efforts were not successful. His identity is not being released until next of kin have been notified.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Bracebridge OPP or Crime Stoppers.
