OSPCA Rehoming Dogs In Wake Of Forest Fire
The Ontario SPCA has rehomed dogs in Northern Ontario in the midst of a forest fire. On June 5th, as the fire burned near Pikangikum First Nation, 20 dogs were brought from Thunder Bay to North Bay, where they were then brought to OSPCA animal centres across southern Ontario, as well as Muskoka. The rehoming mission is part of the OSPCA's “Support the North” campaign, which they say is meant to bring awareness, attention and action to the lack of animal wellness resources in Northern Ontario. More information on the initiative is online here.
