Peter's Players $10K Grant Recipient to Weather Storm
On Tuesday June 30, 2020 the Canadian Chamber of Commerce announced 62 $10,000 grant recipients from its Canadian Business Resilience Network Small Business Relief Fund.
The funding was designed to help small businesses across the country stay afloat and support their recovery efforts, paying salaries, retrofitting their workplaces and acquiring technology to adapt their business model.
One of the recipients is long time running concert organizer and unique Muskoka music venue located in Gravenhurst, Peter's Players.
Peter Swanek owner of the venue says the grant, which they qualified for by being a member of the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce, will help them move forward with the equipment needed to present outdoor events in the community. The funding will also allow them to think beyond the summer months and to attain equipment that can be used to increase an online presence where live recordings can be filmed inside the theatre if space cannot still be used as they approach the colder months.
Peter said that he knows “that other local business partners rely on Peters Players to bring people into Gravenhurst, which is why we are ready to get rolling again so we all as a community start the recovery process from this pandemic,”
