Police Bust GTA Drug Ring Targeting Muskoka
OPP report that a six-month investigation has led to the execution of nine search warrants, the seizure of illicit drugs that were destined for our streets and the arrest of 11 suspects. A network of individuals with connections to the GTA are facing numerous Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code charges, including charges related to organized crime.
The investigation began in December 2020 when police became aware of a network of individuals from the GTA, with ties to GTA-based street gangs, responsible for trafficking fentanyl and crack cocaine in Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka.
Police say on May 20, they executed 9 warrants and seized:
- 427 grams of Fentanyl
- 734 grams of Cocaine
- 53 grams of Crack Cocaine
- 30 Hydromorphone pills
- 15 Oxycodone pills
- Approximately $109,000 Canadian Currency
- Four handguns
- Five vehicles
- Drug trafficking paraphernalia
- Cellular phones
The amount of fentanyl seized in this investigation represents approximately 4,144 street level doses.
