Police Make Big Drug Bust
Members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) have charged six people following the conclusion of a six-month long drug trafficking investigation known as Project Dunk.
On Friday, the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU) supported by the Provincial Asset and Forfeiture Unit (PAFU), Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Barrie City Police Service, South Simcoe Police Service, Nottawasaga and Barrie OPP detachments and other support services sought and executed search warrants at residences in Barrie, Sebright and Innisfil.
During the execution of the warrants, members seized over nine kilograms of cocaine, heroin and other street drugs with an approximate value of $585,119, as well as cutting agents, drug paraphernalia, weigh scales, a quantity of Canadian and US currency and numerous firearms.
As a result of this investigation, six people were arrested and charged for multiple offences.
