Police Seize $105,000 In Contraband Bound For Beaver Creek
On Wednesday, July 7th, the Bracebridge OPP and the Beaver Creek Correctional Institute in Gravenhurst, seized multiple packages with contraband and unauthorized items that were destined for the institution.
Items seized included a large quantity of drugs and tobacco as well as cell phones and associated phone accessories. The total institutional value of the seizure is estimated at $105,700.
Bracebridge OPP is continuing the investigation to determine who was responsible.
The Correctional Service of Canada says they have put measures in place to prevent both contraband and unauthorized items from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone.
