Police Warn Vehicle Drivers To Stay Off Snowmobile Trails
The Bracebridge OPP Motorized Snow Vehicle (MSV) patrol has been actively patrolling the trails, lakes and roadways in our area and last week, officers conducted 7 R.I.D.E. checks throughout Muskoka. Police interacted with nearly 300 operators/passengers that resulted in 13 tickets for various offences including; trespassing, helmets, alcohol and even fishing violations.
Police say the prominent theme over the weekend was the presence of cars and trucks driving on groomed sections of trail. Police are asking all drivers of cars and trucks to stay off of groomed snowmobile trails. Stuck cars make for dangerous obstacles for snowmobilers and the damage they do to the trails can cause serious crashes.
