Province Announces Members Of Watershed Advisory Committee
Today, Ontario Environment Minister Jeff Yurek announced the appointment of the nine-member Muskoka Watershed Advisory Committee which is comprised community and business leaders.
The advisory group has varied expertise in the fields of environmental protection and conservation, resource management, urban and land use planning, municipal representatives, natural or applied sciences, and finance.
Mardi Witzel who serves on a number of committees including the KidsAbility Foundation and New Property Development Committee at the Muskoka Lakes Golf and Country Club has been appointed chair.
Other members include Chris Cragg of Muskoka Lakes Association; Don Smith, a district councillor for the Town of Bracebridge; John Beaucage is the chair of the First Nation Market Housing Fund; John Millerm President of Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre; Julie Cayley, executive director of the Severn Sound Environmental Association; Kevin Trimble, chair of the Muskoka Watershed Council; Norman Yan is a senior research scholar and professor emeritus at York University; and Patricia Arney, who is a member of the Muskoka Watershed Council and the Muskoka Lakes Chamber of Commerce.
