Provincial Parks To Open Next Week
Premier Doug Ford announced that starting on May 11th, that Ontario Parks will be re-opening for day use.
Coming just in time for the long weekend, Ford said that park staff will be going through the start up process in the parks and not all amenities will be available.
Ford said "I encourage people to get out and enjoy the outdoors, but please do so in a responsible way. Practise physical distancing and follow the rules set out by health care officials to stop the spread of this virus."
The premier made it clear, parks would only be available for day use, with camping, playgrounds and beaches remaining closed.
The province is urging Ontarians to visit the parks closest to them, bringing all necessary supplies with them and to practice social distancing.
