The date for the Conservative Party nomination has been set, that according to candidate Holly Thompson, who says she was notified that the Parry Sound-Muskoka nomination vote will be held on Sunday July 7th at Bracebridge Sportsplex, 110 Clearbrook Trail at 1 PM.

Thompson, a Bala native says she’s been out knocking on doors and meeting people in the community, but she says the time has come to pick a candidate.

She says she’s running because we need elected officials with business skills and real-world experience to restore responsible government to Ottawa, balance the budget, pay

down our $700B national debt and represent the interests of small businesses.

“We have enough career politicians in Ottawa,” she says.  “Small business is the lifeblood of the community here in

Parry Sound-Muskoka” and she says she’ll use her experience working in, and advising small business as a Vice President at a global accounting firm to use, if she is elected as the nominee.

Thompson is one of four candidates including Lawyer Alan Fraser, Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison and Meghan Shannon, who holds a doctorate in rural economic development.
