Residents Express Concerns During Muskoka Town Hall Hosted By The Greens
Mike Schreiner, Leader of the Green Party of Ontario and Matt Richter, candidate for Muskoka Parry Sound in next election, co-hosted a special town hall event last night spotlighting the people and the issues that matter to Parry Sound-Muskoka.
The town hall featured special guest Hannah Lin, Executive Director at YWCA Muskoka, and included a roundtable question-and-answer format with riding constituents to address topics covering everything from local food production and the climate crisis to universal broadband.
Participants were polled live to survey public sentiment on key issues that matter most to them. Local food production, preserving and restoring natural spaces, and public transit were among the chief concerns of constituents, in addition to solutions to address the climate crisis.
This event was one of a series of Green Party Ontario town halls covering everything from dignity for seniors and systemic racism to childcare and education. It was the first town hall in that series specifically dedicated to a single riding.
Richter has been conducting his own ongoing listening tour, featuring live Zoom events with Parry Sound-Muskoka constituents. The events began in the spring and will continue through fall.
